Dear brothers and sisters in Christ and friends:

Peace be with you! In recent years, WTCBC and its senior pastor Gong Mingpeng have been continuously attacked and slandered by Mr. Yang Wenge in WeChat groups, email groups, and online platforms. He has even harassed them by holding up signs at different churches and large gatherings in the Greater Toronto Area, causing a negative impact. Therefore, our church hereby issues this statement.

In response to Mr. Yang Wenge's various accusations, the West Toronto Chinese Bible Church has established an independent working group to investigate the matter. The conclusion indicates that Pastor Gong Mingpeng did not violate biblical principles in his teaching and ministry. Meanwhile, the CCCOWE Canada and the Toronto Chinese Evangelical Ministerial Fellowship (TCEMF) have also inquired about the incident and provided relevant responses.

To help brothers and sisters who are concerned about this matter have a better understanding, Pastor Gong Mingpeng's detailed account of the incident is attached here (Chinese):

Pastor Gong Mingpeng's Explanation Regarding the Yang Wenge Incident.pdf

May the brothers and sisters affected by this learn what really happened and be freed from disturbance.
May the Lord reign and may the Lord's grace be with you always!
